MODERN STONE HOUSE TWO

Our clients, a fashion designer and businessman, engaged Kadlec Architecture + Design to develop the interior design of their new city home. The objective was to bring warmth and livability to a distinctly modern house while preserving its clean architectural lines. A departure from the couple's more traditional aesthetic, the interiors embrace a contemporary palette of natural materials, rich textures, and carefully layered details that create a home both sophisticated and comfortable.

Throughout the residence, sculptural lighting, custom architectural elements, and thoughtfully selected furnishings add warmth and personality without competing with the architecture. A dramatic Molenschot "Cloud" light sculpture anchors the living room, while a delicate David Wiseman plaster and porcelain ceiling installation brings an unexpected sense of softness to the primary bedroom.

An important contemporary art collection, including works by Ellsworth Kelly, Jaume Plensa, Damien Hirst, and Allen McCollum, is woven naturally throughout the home. The result is a modern residence that feels welcoming, highly personal, and designed as much for everyday living as for displaying art.
