Two sisters came to us with a vision for a shared family retreat in Chicago. Our goal was to create a home that balanced their distinct aesthetics while serving as an urban counterpart to each of their primary residences. Inspired by the city's soft blues and steely grays, we layered textures and furnishings to create spaces that feel equally suited to lively family gatherings and quiet moments of retreat. A custom silk and wool rug anchors the living room, embodying the harmony at the heart of the design—both graphic and understated, with subtle shifts in color and texture that reflect the sensibilities of both families.
